Baby Massage for Parents - 5 Sessions of 1 ½ Hours each
This is a course for loving parents and any other infant caregiver. Learn how to massage your special baby and create a bond that will last a lifetime. You can begin whenever you and your baby feel the time is right. Newborns to toddlers are welcome, One-on-one courses in the home with the IAIM (UK)-trained Instructor can also be arranged for babies from 1 day old to 1 year old.
Being touched and caressed Being massaged, is food for the infant, Food as necessary as minerals Vitamins, and proteins
Babies who are lovingly touched not only survive, they THRIVE!
You are invited to attend these wonderful workshops WITH your baby. YOU massage your baby, nobody else does. The instructor demonstrates on a doll. The training is broken down into five sessions of a maximum of one and a half hours a session. Your baby will tell you if he/she has had enough and we respect that. The classes are baby-led and are based on respect and love. We usually work in the mornings when babies are rested, well-fed and alert, and so are the Moms and Dads.
Over the five sessions you, the parent/caregiver, will gain self-esteem in handling your baby and will learn, apart from the massage strokes (and amongst other things), techniques to relax yourself (and your baby), about your baby's cues, about loving touch and bonding, the benefits of massage and how to create US time for the two of you, about fussing and crying, about infant development etc…..There is a time for a discussion point each week where parental interaction is encouraged.
The benefits of infant massage are enormous, both for the infant and the caregiver, as well as siblings, the extended family and maybe even society! (see more under the 'About Massage' tab above).
Course Programme:
- Session 1 - Introduction and legs and feet; theory and discussion point

There will be handouts to take away each week and there is a book written by the founder of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM), Vimala McClure, which is recommended reading. Keeping a journal of the experiences over the five weeks is recommended.
Classes are small for individualised attention, but large enough to enjoy, and learn from, parent interaction.
This course is taught exactly the same all over the world by the IAIM Instructors. The Instructors are flexible on times of the sessions and the course is always baby-led. In between the sessions you will practice on your precious bundle of joy, absorb the techniques and will discover the magic of baby massage!
